An interactive and safe community for your child.

At Spectrum Therapy Australia, our Social Connection Programs offer a safe, inclusive, and engaging space where children, teens, and young adults can learn, practise, and strengthen the social and emotional skills they need to thrive.

Led by our clinicians and therapy assistants, these programs combine evidence‑informed strategies with fun, creative activities — helping participants connect with others, build confidence, and feel supported as they navigate social situations.

We believe every child and young person deserves a place where they can laugh, play, and feel understood. Our groups are designed to meet diverse communication styles, sensory needs, and learning preferences, ensuring everyone can participate in ways that feel comfortable and empowering.

Across our Social Connection Programs

 Participants will:

  • Learn how to be a good friend through turn‑taking, sharing, and problem‑solving
  • Build confidence navigating social situations with empathy, flexibility, and perspective‑taking
  • Practise transitioning smoothly between activities, environments, and routines
  • Strengthen listening skills, attention, and concentration
  • Recognise, understand, and manage big feelings and emotional responses
  • Develop teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Build confidence in group settings and feel more comfortable connecting with peers

Every program is designed to be neuroaffirming, strengths‑focused, and respectful of each child’s communication style, sensory needs, and identity.

What are Social Connection Programs?

Our Social Connection Programs are small‑group, therapist‑led sessions that support children and young people to build meaningful relationships, practise social communication, and develop emotional and behavioural skills in a supportive environment.

Using creative, play‑based and interest‑based approaches — including storytelling, arts and crafts, group games, role‑play, movement activities, and collaborative challenges — we help participants learn social skills in ways that feel natural, fun, and engaging.

These programs are ideal for children and teens who benefit from structured social opportunities, gentle guidance, and a predictable environment where they can learn at their own pace.

We practise a neurodiversity-affirming approach. This means…

Inspiring every child to embrace their strengths and unique-nesses — at home, at school, and beyond.
